Beak and nails don't look bad. Feed on a flat tile or stone and it should be fine.
Thank you. When I first got her, I wasn’t sure about her beak. But I’ve had her eating off a slate tile and a terra-cotta saucer since then and have seen improvement.

Your leopard has beautiful markings and you have adorable tortoises. I like the stones that you put in the enclosure.
Thanks so much! We think so too, lol. And thanks about the rocks. I just used the ones I kept digging up when making the enclosure. Free!

Hello! Just a quick update on Agbienna. We have know had her for 3 months. She's doing pretty well. I have been weighing her the beginning of each month and she was 858 grams today and a 1/2 inch longer at 6 1/2 inches long. She has started to warm up to me and isn't as shy... or at least knows I'm the food lady, lol. Just wondering, how can I tell if her shell is growing in more smoothly now? I have to admit, I have no idea how the more experienced members are able to look at someone's tortoise and tell.

It has now been 4 months since we gave Agbienna a new home. She's definitely not as shy anymore and such a sweetie. I weighed her today and she was 938 grams and is now 7 inches long! This is what her growth has looked like:

April 6 - 629 grams, 6 inches long
May 6 - 751 grams
June 6 - 765 grams
July 6 - 858 grams 6 1/2 inches long
August 6 - 938 grams, 7 inches long

I had not planned on getting a Leopard tortoise originally, especially since I only received my Hermann's 6 months before the opportunity to rehome Agbienna came up. I'm so glad we decided to take her. She's great! So grateful for this forum and all the help I've gotten in taking care of her.

Agbienaa is doing great. She weighed in last week at 1120 grams. We have now had her 5 months and it’s been such a pleasure. Here she is enjoying the lovely weather today.

Agbienaa has been with us 6 months now. She weighed 1198 grams this morning (not quite double her weight when we got her). Her beak as completely trimmed down too. Is this weight gain ok? Too fast, normal?

I’m just getting to see this and I’m thrilled you have gotten things going right. Both your tortoises are beautiful. I really love the light blonde colors on some of these Leopards. I’m blessed with mine. If your hand is not huge your Ga and my Douglas look about the same size with Ga possibly being just a bit bigger. I have big hands for a woman.
Douglas looks small to me because in my heart he’s just a baby.
I hope you keep us posted with updates and those pictures. I’ve went nuts taking pictures and videos. I send them to my best friend that’s about 60 miles from me and she’s on this journey with me. I love to watch them eat. I’m working on my enclosure and humidity too.
I have so much to learn.
