I picked him up today from the breeder and he's beautiful. Love his high domed shell. Gave him a soak and I placed him in his new home. He's so tiny I can't believe how big he'll grow up to be. I had to rearrange his enclosure because the ceramic water and food saucers were way to big I was worried he would flip over. I'm just using the lids of plastic tubs for now. Unfortunately work got in the way so I had to leave him for the evening.

Does have a high dome. Pretty neat.

How have you decided to raise your leopard baby? :)

The breeder has raised leopards the new way, meaning under humid conditions with soaks. I certainly intend on doing the same with mine and following Tom's guidelines as much as I can. He's in a 50 gallon tub with sphagnum moss, humid hide and coco coir with mvb and a heat emitter at night all in closed chamber.

Awwww the cuttlebone is bigger than him! so cute. I'd have loved to see what mine looked like as a hatchling. And im pleased to hear you'll be raising him with humidity. Im sure you know but don't let temps get below 27oC.

I hope this doesn't sound silly, but I think I'll call him "Humvee" which is a nickname for the US military vehicle Hummer. He just looks like one with the same colour and camo.:D

He is adorable and I love, love, love the name. Enjoy, they are great torts.

Oh, and am very happy to hear that the breeder raised him the hot and humid way and that you will be following Toms threads. If you need refreshing, they are listed at the bottom of my post. That's how much I believe in them:)

Must admit I've been eyeing leopards for a long time. To me, cute as babies, beautiful as adults, good nature, not too big but substantial, not too difficult to raise if you do your research. It just ticks off a lot of boxes. I've read Tom's posts, and others as well. We all live in different geographical locations so each of us needs to tweak things, but the big one is indeed humidity when they are young. I love my other pets too, but I suppose since I've been wanting one so long, I'm just thrilled I have one finally. Thank you!:)

Humvee is adorable. So glad to see him here. Will be fun to watch him mature and see how he changes. Beautiful shell to start with!
