so i've posted about my sick baby cherryheads....eye problems, soft plastrons and not eating. trying everything but not improving. this morning when i put them in their babyfood bath, i noticed the tiny whitish bugs crawling on their shells. i am assuming these are mites as i had snake mites about 10 years ago. i know to dispose of all the substrate and sanitize everything but what to do as far as medicinal for my torts? can't even remember what i did for my snake....think it was a powder or something but did get rid of them. what can i do for temporary habitat til it's taken care of? basically, what ever you folks can tell me, i would love to know.

thanks a bunch

Hi Jojo,

Do you still need an answer for this question?

If the little crawling bugs are white and jump around like fleas then you have Springtails. aka Snow Fleas. They are harmless to your tortoise.

Snake mites are black.

Most people (myself included) don't worry about springtails in the enclosure.
