Hey everyone, I live in Washington NC and just got two yearlings from Chris Estep ToucanJungle from California about a month ago. They look good and have been eatting outside but they don't like it inside. Winter is coming so they will have to go inside. I named them speedy and pokie. Both are shy but pokie is extremely shy. I also have sulcata's, Leopards and albino res. I'll try to download some pics. Let me know what you think and any pointers are appreciated.

They are cute. However you do know they need some humidity right? That's why Aldabramans are so smooth. The Florida humidity. Yours were kept dryer then they should be, that's why his older ones are always pyramided. I would soak daily and give them a more humid environment.

Hello Mag. It's always good to see another aldabra owner. How long are they?

Aldabras are eating machines, so maybe they don't really like their enclosure. Mine certainly eats everywhere as long as they like the food.

Please share more of your aldabra enclosure, food and daily treatment. I'd love to know more.
Also more pictures of everything please :D

I also think a better substrate, like dirt or coconut coir would be more suitable for indoors, also better for humidity. Do you have hides for them and some plants for security would be nice also. A large water dish they can get in and out of, clay saucers like what goes under flower pots might work for a while.

Yours are 3 cm longer than mine. I would like to have another aldabra if possible in near future.

May I know how you feed them?

When I got them, there was some white stuff on there back, you can see it in pics. Looked like maybe a number. You reckon they were imported?

Yes they are imported. All of toucan jungles Aldabras are imported. How did you not know that before you bought them? Didn't he tell you? That's why he doesn't have any under four inches. They are supposedly bred in a zoo and then held someplace, in England I think, can't remember, until they are four inches or bigger, before they are shipped to Chris.
