I was just gifted a male redfoot named ZIP by fellow south Florida Redfoot keeper
@nightoff
He has fathered too many babies and had to go to a new home. (Mine)
He will live a bachelor lifestyle here. By himself. And he has a good deal of space and natural shade.
He may be adopted out later. He also may become a permanent resident.
(Simply because of the high standards I have for adoption)
I have NOO plans for breeding him with my females.
He is in beautiful condition.
He seems very healthy.
His name is ZIP.

I will miss my “little” boy but now he has more space and will have a great home. He was only a couple days old when I got him ?

I can focus on my female and five hatchlings. I want to make sure the hatchlings have a good start so wherever they go, at least some of them will need to be adopted out, they will be healthy.

You absolutely know what you're doing!
And it was a pleasure meeting you.

HOLY COW!!! Just look at the size of that stag horn fern!!!! Sheesh!
It was there when I bought the house.
It has become a giant.
That Purple(pink)Trumpet Tree is the last tree on my little property.
Hurricanes have removed all of my palm trees.
The last hurricane ripped that tree in half, but it survived.

Zip is adorable! Congrats
I went outside just before dark to check on him and he was under the Hibiscus bush.
He ran over to see me. So I gave him a flower.
It seems as though he's a hand fed boy.

I tried really had to give him proper nutrition and moisture. My female (Indy) was about a year old when I got her and she was already pyramiding so she has continued but I really wanted to Zip to be free of it. I'm a little OCD with what I feed them so I have tracked what I fed them from the day I got each one. I could tell you what they ate on any given day since July 4, 2011, when I got Indy. I acquired zip on September 21, 2014. His hatch date is couple days earlier. Indy had gotten lost or stolen so I got Zip from a friend that has a breeding pair. He weighed 31grams. So Cute! On October 6th, Indy was found next door in their driveway, happy and healthy. She had apparently been on a "walkabout" around the cul-de-sac for 17 days. : )

He is very food motivated! I have always fed him out of my hand at least a little. I can't tell you how many times he's gotten a piece of my finger. Never broke the skin though. Watch your toes if they are exposed! He associates skin with food and will bite them thinking they have food attached. : P

It was great meeting you too. I made a great setup for him.
I'm scattering his food all over the pen so that he will learn to search and discover it. Just like I do for my females.
Today it was blackberries and raspberries to discover.
He's a fast learner. And seems to be grazing on weeds.
My other 4 do not do that.
They selectively choose a weed here and there. But never graze.
This ZIP is a friggin lawn mower.
