Spearmint is fine but I’d be surprised if he ate it; the smell is very strong.

Wheat grass not a bad food, per se, but Russians don’t eat grass, only plants with actual leaves (grass only has the straight blades).

These foods are fine but it’s always good to add more variety whenenever you can. Take a look at this food list for sulcatas to get more ideas and add them in when and if you can. Sulcata tortoises do eat grass so ignore the top section about grass, everything below that is good for Russians. https://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/for-those-who-have-a-young-sulcata.76744/
So do you think i should buy this seed mix and plant it? https://www.tortoisesupply.com/TestudoMix#ProductReviews

Yes, that is what I planted for mine. I planted two planters of it, and I switch them out. I need to order more and make more of it. I finally actually saw him eating it today.
Okay i will get that how long does it take to grow?

Yes
what should i feed him while it is growing
Collard greens are good to add to the other foods you have been feeding until the seeds get going. I’m not sure how long it will take. They start sprouting in about two days. Make sure you keep the dirt moist while they are beginning to grow. Maybe a month before you can put it in his enclosure. Someone else can maybe chime in with a better timeline.

These are both good products but probably best used in the winter, if you are keeping your tortoise awake (not hibernating). They add variety in the winter when other foods, like weeds, can be hard to find.

If you are concerned about what to feed him while your new seeds are growing and/or you want to be sure he’s getting enough of the right kinds of things on an ongoing basis, you can supplement with something like Mazuri Tortoise blend, which is a bit like dog chow, just for tortoises. There are plenty of existing threads on Mazuri in the Diet section if you want to do some searching there. It’s not a must feed but many owners do add it to the overall diet.

Yes, that’s a similar product, also good. You don’t need to invest in both with just a single tortoise. Just keep doing what you’re doing. :)
