My Russian tortoise can’t open one of her eyes

I’ve had my tortoises for about a month now and she has began to eat a little bit more than she was when I first got her. I give her spring mix every two days (it dries up very quickly and most of the time she doesn’t eat it) and she picks at it every once in awhile. I’ve also noticed lately that her left eye isn’t opening. It is very watery sometimes and it does open when I put her in the water and soak her but when she’s in her cage, it stays shut. Her other eye is fine so I’m worried about her and don’t know what could be causing it. If you have any tips on how to get her to start eating more or how to fix her eye please let me know!

Greetings and Welcome.

The best thing to do is to upload some pictures of your enclosure. Top, bottom, lights, substrate.

Have you read the care sheet ? https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/russian-tortoise-care-sheet.80698/

I’m guessing ur temps are too low, your lights are not on long enough. Substrate, humidity, etc.

Upload some pix of everything including your tort.

Good luck happy torting
