MY STAR TORTOISE ISNT EATING FOOD

Hi guys... I'm glad to find this forum... Guys recently 3 days before I got a star tortoise..it isn't eating food. It's not opening it's mouth.i tried keeping carrot tomato beans spinach..but it didn't eat..it keeps moving it's head up n down frequently...I give him sun bath every morning 8 to 10.. and then water bath for 20 mins..

I kept in sun..today morning...it had carrot ...I scrapped the carrot n put ...under the sunlight ....it started eating

I don't know for sure about the head moving up and down.
But when a Tortoise doesn't feel save it moves his head up and down a bit. At least that is what I think. But I have to see if it is the same thing. Can you film it with your phone?

He does drink water n urinate .. but not eating food properly

Did you read the link Debora provided? Everything is explained there for you. It will answer your questions. Please read that and then ask questions about anything you do not understand.

If you read it, you will find the problems you have - the diet you are offering is not good at all. Not what a tortoise would want to eat, nor is food for it. The enclosure you have will never allow a tortoise to feel comfortable enough to eat. It is also impossible to control the proper heat and humidity needed for the tortoise the way you have it.

Thanks for ur reply Mark!... actually I'm building a proper enclosure for him... as of now I'm mainting the humidity and temperature to optimal level...as specified
For uvb ..I'm giving him a sun bath every morning around 2 hours and placed in a room with 100W incandecent bulb and then water bath for 20 mins in afternoon...
I trying my best to give him no harm and make him live happiest..coming to diet he drinks water frequently...and urinates...from past 2 days..he didn't have anything I tried different foods too...but today he had carrot..muching it properly,..... that view made my day...but Im worried abt the way he nods his head up and down...I tried sharing the access of the video...have a look n please guide me ..what should I do https://drive.google.com/file/d/19jHEyZ-IPuDIszUo-Vn8J0V4Gib0IMxF/view?usp=drivesdk

Im using .Humidifier as well as few diy methods for mainting the humidity and then incandecent bulb for heating....I have ordered for a device which tells the temp n humidity level...if its less than optimal..I would take neccenece steps ..

Can raddish(white in colour ) can be given or only the leaves of raddish as well can carrot be given?..and per day how many times should I feed my star Tortoise it's of 2.5 to 3 inch...
