My Sulcata Tortoise is scared

im not sure why my sulcata is scared of me ive had him for about 2 months now, just last week he got scared of me. is this normal. i dont know if he got hurt or not, im just really worried about him

Theres a pic of what he looks like eating a banana :D

i dont see the pic. I have a shy tortoise right now too. my other guy is as friendly as can be. sometimes they are shy. But I think there is a fine line that you can walk with handling your tortoise so that it trusts you without stressing him out. try to spend some time with him to help make him comfortable but don't restrict his movements or handle him excessively.

Each tort is different that is for sure. I have some that took a week to get use to us and others that took months to get use to us.

I wouldn't stress over it. Just love the lil guy as much as you can :)

How old is he? Young ones are often fearful. This helps them survive in the wild. Most of them outgrow this with time and size. Females also tend to be a bit more timid, but there are certainly exceptions to this.
