My Tortoise Vocalized

I just heard my tortoise make a squeeking noise, probably four times.

She is 2yrs. Herman's Dalmatian

She is eating well and growing like a weed. I have never heard a peep out of her and I've had her almost a year.

Is she in trouble of some kind? Or just trying out her voice? I did not know tortoises spoke.

Please tell me, quick, so I can worry some more or let it go.

Maybe I just imagined the squeaking.

She was next to the glass and digging in after breakfast. It is possible she was scraping the side of the enclosure with her foot.

But, I'm still concerned.

But yes, tortoises will and can make noise. From what I understand, it's mostly when they are breeding.

Breeding? The poor girl is alone. She is also, 2.

It is quite possible she was scraping the glass. I hope.

My 2year girl tort "barked" at me when I wasn't paying attention to her when she was sitting in her soak. She also does it too when I tickle her feet [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]we also constantly talk to our torts too, so it maybe mimicking too..

Dont be alarmed. Cooper makes sounds everyday, some are grunting, some are strange, and some are odd. Hard to describe the different noises he makes. And everytime he does I check on him, but he is always just fine. The strange thing to me is that my Russian never makes a peep.
