My vet suggested mealworms?

Even if this particular species of tortoise ate animal protein, I surprised that a vet would encourage the use of meal worms. I thought the meal worm exxoskeleton (or whatever its called) was hard to digest and one shouldn't use mealworms all that often.

I posted a review on their facebook page but I suppose I could post on yelp too.

The first vet has her specialty listed on the clinic's website as avian and exotics and she's who my appointment was set up with when I asked if they could see my tortoise (I didn't request anyone specific), but it seems that she's more used to the care of exotic mammals and birds. She did talk about how she at least used to work with an animal rescue that took in reptiles since she was telling me about how she wanted to bring home a Greek tortoise they had there.
