I have two 6 month old redfoots. Today i have found one, upside down 2 times. This has never happened, to my knowledge.
Nothing in the enclosure has changed. It is happening in open areas.
Does anyone have any advice?
It does not look good to me.

This tortoise is eating well, eyes are clear, shell looks and feels great. No obvious breathing issues.
Thanks

I have this problem as well with my two sulcatas. I came to the conclusion that my enclosure is to small so I have to upgrade. if your RF is growing maybe he wants more room. other than that I'm not sure. Good luck to you though.

Their enclosure is big for their size.
I just took both outside and they are walking all over, climbing wood and hoses.
As always I will keep a good eye on them and increase outside exercise.
Thanks very much.

If there is nothing that he is climbing on to flip, maybe the other tort is doing it. Do you ever see any bullying going on? A tort can make another flip by ramming them. If it keeps up, maybe try separating them and seeing if it still happens. Other then that, I have to clue.

They actually seem to get along very well. I have never seen bullying.
The other one is quite passive but my eye is non them!
Appreciate the advice.

I would try and put a cushion like substrate for them to walk on. As they age they will gain their equalibrium and not need as much cushion. Personally I have used Orchid Moss from Home dept. and it works great. Lightly moisten it and I bet they stop turning over. Good luck Richard
