I have an 8 year old Cherry Red who has never been sick but we just moved to Florida last Monday from NYC. We packed Red and tank in heat packs and she made the trip ok but this AM she is sneezing and wheezing with runny eyes and needless to say I am terrified. I am new to this area I know no one and I do not have a Vet or recommendations for a herp specialist here.
I am feeding her now to see if she will eat
I have been making sure her tank is warm enough it is and that everything is at it’s usual temp and humidity it is and she has been eating with no wheezing or sneezing
I am really panicked
I am located in Saint James City on Pine Island which is SWFL my husband is out of town so basically I am stranded
Any suggestions advice or emotional support would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Stop with the panic, you've changed her home around and her whole habitat is different. Get her set up correctly then I'd leave her alone to get used to the change in her world

The best thing you can do right now is bump up the temperature, keep your tort warm. 85-90 degrees.

The Calusa Herp Society should be able to help you with recommendations for a good reptile veterinarian in your part of the state.

Your tort is most probably a bit stressed from the move, new location, new HUMIDITY levels too. Wow, Pine Island, surrounded by water! Lucky you. Hope your tort can move outside....... we were kayaking on Sanibel Island a few years back. Wonderful water & weather.
