I'm a first time turtle mom and I never imagined I could love this quarter sized creature so very much.

Groot is eating earth worms every other day, LOVES her soak time and I swear she looks at us when we talk to her.

Today this is how she fell asleep and she's been sleeping like this for hours. Not the greatest pictures but you'll get the cuteness point.

Baby Groot really is too cute, I love that pose "out on a limb!" He really has an outgoing personality to be out in the open like that at such a young age. It looks like he is trying to soak up some heat, is he under the heat source? His substrate looks dry, I would add lots more water.

What is the optimal temperature and humidity level? We mist it at least 3 times a day and she has an area with water she can swim in. I want to make sure I'm doing the best I can.

I cover my enclosures to hold humidity. It helps a lot. Temperature can range from 75 to 90.

I agree with Lisa, 75F on the cool side and 85-90F on the warm side. With a damp substrate and misting a few times per day in my open top enclosures I can get 80% humidity at substrate level. A covered enclosure will get even higher humidity levels, which is even better, especially for hatchlings.

Hello Lisa, buy some sphagnum moss, rinse a few hand fulls of it thoroughly, and place it in a section of your enclosure away from the heat source. This will help with maintaining humidity in the enclosure and give Groot an area to hide. Plus, the moisture from the moss will help keep the skin and shell hydrated.
