After searching for one month I found a beautiful pair of C. pulchristriata. They have papers and aren't WC animals. They are German breed from 2007. Last year they lay for the first time. Hope you enjoy
Thank you! Yes they are everywhere under presented. You only see C. dentata sometimes. Because of that I hope that I can breed them C. pulchristriata in the next years hopefully in the next :-D
Nice pulchristriata They, the atripons and the dentata seem to be most represented in collections. I have some of each plus others of uncertain identity.
These are of course difficult to study in the field. They occur over an extraordinarily large area-India east to Vietnam and China south into the Indonesian Islands or an area roughly the size of Australia. And Australia is more readily accessible than most areas of Southeast Asia. These turtles are widely eaten and certainly in some places, they’re being eaten faster than they can be studied. Add to that, they’re not widely popular in the pet trade and you have the situation where they may never be well identified any time soon.
