Just got this little thing yesterday, it’s very active and eats a LOT. Surprised it readily accepts grass and weeds like plantain. Ate a lot of the clover I am growing too. He has a whole bin of tortoise mix to chow on during sun time. Have him set up in a humid rubber maid tub. Looking forward to see how this little one grows.

Your little dude looks great. Nice shell pattern. Our torts love the clovers too. They see them across the yard and beeline over.

Very cute. Young leopards don't take to grass easy or early on. Keep him going on weeds, grass, etc more then grocery store greens. It will be better for him in the long run.

Thanks all. I am very new tortoise keeper, and this is my first time seeing a very young tortoise just going at it with food. Gave a tiny bit of acorn squash and he just gobbled it up too. He fell asleep on his terra-cotta food dish, too cute.

Very cute :)

Have you read the TFO care guides for Leopard Torts?

They're written by species experts working hard to correct the outdated information widely available on the internet and from pet stores and, sadly, from some breeders and vets too.

Thank you for the information, I started with a sulcata back in March, religiously following the guidelines here. Closed chamber, soaks, high humidity and weeds ad grasses for grassland species. I’m using the similar care for my leopard now. But I still go back to reading those links! Very happy I found this forum. I’m going to be honest, I probably would have raised them in very dry conditions if I have not read the links here, and give them mostly grocery greens.
