Much thanks to @Riley ann for such a nice Leopard baby (hatched late December). Came out of the box at 129.2 grams and is settling in well. After a morning soak hit the softened Mazuri like a beast. Sanitized the tub I used for my Russian and added new substrate. Thanks to @Tom not sure why I waited the fine grade orchid bark on top is the bomb. It looks good and helps maintain my needed moisture. More photos to come as we grow!IMG_1904.jpgIMG_1903.jpgIMG_1908.jpg

Congrats. There is already a lot of pyramiding. On Babcocki type leopards it's hard to stop this. Keep the humidity high and don't use a mercury vapor bulb to get the least amount of further pyramiding.

So it has been three months and boy is my Leopard growing. It has been a challenge ensuring the heat and humidity when I went to the bigger enclosure, but I have it dialed in now. The basement floor was more of a heat sink than expected. The growth between the scutes is going smooth so minimizing the pyramiding that happened. The russian is absolutely giddy with his winter indoor. Enjoys the basking rock and has a few spots to dig for bedtime. The Leopard is heavier now with the last weight at 199 grams on October 20th.Happy Thanksgiving to All!

My leopard is really enjoying the new enclosure (closed chamber) and so am I. 83% humidity everywhere and mid 90% in the humid hide. Growing great hit 470 grams today

MVB causes pyramiding? This is the first time I’ve heard this.

Outdoor build completed 8' X 8' X 12'. This will serve for this summer while I set up the side of the house for the long term build (10'X30'). Grumpy spent all day out checking the perimeter wall! Gotta get some Echinacae from my neighbor to get some lower plants growing. Mulch is Cypress from Lowes at $3.97 a bag and I really liked the consistency and size of it-No Trash which is sadly all to common in mulches. Now I just gotta wait for the spring in VA to make up its mind- This week is all indoor enclosure for sure! Also three years ago that was a one gallon cutting I made from my senior butterfly bushes in the front yard. Two years ago my neighbor cutting down her dying Live Oak and boom magic sun time for butterfly bush growth!
