Over this past long weekend, I've decided to upgrade my existing outdoor box turtles habitat.
So this is the original box turtles habitat layout I've used for the past 4 years... the turtles are using all parts of the enclosure and able to find various spots to hide and hibernate all year around...
This the the new outdoor habitat layout for my box turtles...
The main reason for this habitat update is to increase the water area so turtles will have more area to swim around and hunt to water snails and fishes...
Now the new water area has been excavated and now ready for new pond liner installation....
The new installed water pool for box turtles...
I used the wood-finished tile plank around the water pool to create natural-looking walking path for the turtles...
I've also placed a planter tank above the water pool to grow additional water plants and some Japanese rice fish...
This is the overview of the new turtle habitat...
A few box turtles are wondering around their new habitat layout using the new ramp to reach to nesting spot...
Their shelter also got a new roof finish... looking AWESOME... ^_^
