Hello,

My family has a small tortoise. Her name is Missie. I rescued her from a family who grew out of her. She is about 15 years old and honestly I am not sure of her species. I have been told that she is a Russian tortoise, a Greek Tortoise or a medium spur-thighed tortoise. She was purchased from a pet store in Texas. We would really like to know which one she is. We are looking to get another turtle just like her or one that is from the same region. 30.jpg

Welcome! She definitely looks like a box turtle or possibly a Greek.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!

That's a Greek tortoise. Without more pictures from different angles, we wouldn't be able to give you the sub species. @HermanniChris is the one to ask for sub species info. Let us see the under side too.

Wow, thank you for the welcomes and the identification of our Missie. She is a sweetie until she is hungry or wants out, then beware of your cute pink toes! I will take more pictures so we can narrow down who she is. She has quite the personality of any turtles I have owned.

A very warm welcome to the forum @Montugas .

That's a Greek tort.

By the way, I've had a Greek tort for about 5.5 years and I simply love him.
