Hi all. My boyfriend and I got our daughter a horsefield tortoise for her birthday. He or she (its too early to tell) doesn't seem to eat a lot. We don't know a lot about toitoises so not sure how much it should be eating. How many times a day are people usually feeding them. Also I'm rubbish with plants/ weeds so not sure what I should be feeding it. Anyone got any pics of suitable UK weeds or a link to somewhere that does? Thanks. Also any more advice would be great thanks x

if he isnt warm enough, he wont eat. they also hibernate, so if its sool or they dont get 14 hours of light a day, they will slow down and go to sleep.

Make sure the enclosure is large enough, 4'x2' minimum for an adult.
Especially a new tortoise: soak in a small plastic container in baby warm shallow water to lower neck) daily, then 1-2x per week.

This is not a UK site, but provides good general info about diet, feeding, lighting, etc:
