New member with 2 Hermann's torts in Israel

I have a 9 -month old Hermann tortoise with a 4 inch string of HAIR sticking out of his anus! I tried lightly pulling it out, but it's in there good. Should I just leave it until it comes out by itself?

It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but I don't know.

Thanks for your advice. Has anybody dealt with this before?

Cut off the part you can with scissors and let nature take care of the rest.

You can feed him some squash or cucumber to loosen him up while you wait for that to happen.

Now that you know what to do about the current hair, is there anything about his current setup that is allowing him to get at hair regularly or was this just a one-time thing? If your tortoise is allowed to crawl around on the floor he’ll pick up hair and anything else he may find.

Thanks for the advice. You are right about the problem- My daughter was coming her hair in the same room, near the tortoise table! I'll have them be more careful.
