Hi everyone, i new on here. i've joined because i been planning to get a tortoise for a while now, i've been waiting for the perfect home, and opportunity to get one. Ive done my research but still need a bit of advice from some of you professionals.

The tortoise would be an indoor one, as England gets quite cold! so if anyone could recommend a good breed of tortoise. The main problem for me is wether to get one now, i've waited a number of years and i don't know wether its safe because i now have a little one, he's just turned 1. Although he wont be anywhere near the tortoise, i worry incase its not safe. Or wether anyone has a tortoise as well as children.

Thanks :).

Welcome. Most species of tortoises that I see are kept in the United Kingdom are testudo greaca(Greek tortoise). They stay relatively small and are very easy to care for.

Hello and Welcome. Any tortoise you get should have outside time in warm weather. So, while planning your inside enclosure, please also plan an outside one, if only for warm day time.
