Hi all, living in England means very confusing weather so I do have an Inside pen but I wanted to give the little guy a natural environment, have a look and see what you think, if there’s any improvements let me know!? very pleased with the outcome, has taken along time, the inside pen has uvb and heat lamps so don’t worry he is getting the essentials. The stream is fed from a small pump with a reservoir underneath the enclosure, may add another tortoise however I’m scared as I don’t know if it’s a good idea??‍♂️, one panel can be opened on top as the enclosure gets warm, I will put mesh under so that birds cannot enter however that’s a job for another day. Let me know what you think, his name is Terry.
This is also my first post on here, I hope I’ve posted right thanks- Harvey.?14F7B49A-3CB4-48D8-B135-5F63F1D86419.jpeg

Welcome to the forums! The enclosure looks great! What are the dimensions? You may want to raise the stream bed up just so it doesn't become a flipping hazard for the lil guy. Also I'd advise against getting a 2nd tort unless you are giving it it's own enclosure, very few (if any) tort species should be kept in pairs unless its breeding time but even then it should only be for that time. There are a number of threads on these forms detailing why it isn't a good idea to do.

Very nice. You don't need the uvb on if the sun is out.
The stream, as long as it isn't deep enough at any part of it that he could drown if flipped its fine.
Do not get another tort. As stated they should not be kept in pairs and specially Russians.
He is perfectly happy being all by himself. That's how they want it in captivity and the way they live in the wild.

Yes, I watched him for a while and decided on the same thing, I have turned the stream off for now and am going to make some adjustments?

Hi there, the uvb is just for days when it’s too cold to get him outside and it’s in his indoor pen, thanks for the info, stream is very shallow and I will making some adjustments before he’s in supervised. Thanks for the good info
