So glad I found this forum! I have always had turtles..box turtles, water turtles, but never had a TORTIE.....I was actually wanting a Russian, but ended up adopting a RFT...her name is Sally, age estimate is 2 years. She is still small (7" carapice). She has one small raised spot on her shell, I assume from a time she may have not had the proper UVB lighting? Other than that, she is thriving. She currently lives in a HUGE 6' terrarium, with her friend Boxie, the Missouri 3-toed box turtle. She had never had fresh fruits or veggies til now, (always just the pellets, so I'm told) and she had her first strawberry last week. LOVED IT! Anyway, glad to be here...I'm 49, and hubby and I live in the beautiful Ozarks
