New Russian Tortoise owner

Hello! My 8 year old daughter wanted a turtle for her birthday and all of my research led me to this site where I found such a wealth of knowledge! We got a Russian Tortoise on Saturday and she named her Shelly (I know...original, right?). We got her from Petsmart and the associate who helped us also had Russians at home and told me Shelly was a she but I know sometimes it's hard to tell. Anyway, just wanted to say 'Hi' and thanks for everything I have already learned by reading through past posts!
