i thought i should share the excitement of getting new stars....... i'm getting a pair of adult stars....... the female is way above 3 kg and the male is 2.2 kg....... i'm getting them from a family living in a village 200 km from Gandhidham Gujarat.......

below are some pics that i received from my parents who got them from the village and are going to bring to me......

the male's scute is slightly damaged on the top revealing the bone... it seems to be an old injury but i'll try to fix it...

The female is most definitely an Indian Star from the north of the country (Gujarat/Rajasthan belt). The male also appears to be from the same region.

Lovely smooth shells!

ok so today i decided to give an update
unfortunately i wasn't able to get the female yet...... but i've got the male
and He is just so amazing..... really smooth shell !! most probably a wild caught specimen......

he is a perfect example of nature's hand in keeping shell smooth :)
i haven't yet decided what to name him so name suggestions are most welcomed :)

and he has this very old injury of dog bite........ it had penetrated the bone but the good thing is he is super active and eating very well despite that injury...... well i'm asking you experts on how to fix or fill that little hole in his shell ..... i know i've to go to a vet... i'm still searching for a reptile specialist.... but before i visit i want to ask you guys how is this usually treated what medicines used and how is it filled like some kind of organic epoxy.... so that i can recheck if the vet's advice is right or not.....
thank you in advance :)
