Hi
Thanks for having me and for all this great information. I just go a baby sulcata (born last August) who seems to be doing very well and is I think pretty big for his age at about 3.5 inches and 139g. I have read a lot about the importance of humidity with regard to shell growth and am trying to take this to heart. My question is how long do I need to worry about the high humidity environment? Is this more a factor of size or age? Obviously once a tortoise moves outside the humidity is what it is but until then? Thanks for your help John

They should be kept in a closed chamber until around the age of 3 years or at 10 inches they can live outside. When not in a closed chamber they should then have a humid hide.

Welcome to another Sully owner in Maryland!

Yep, soak ur Sully daily until you can’t lift them easily any more. Once Summer hits, it’s still important to soak and keep them in humid conditions.

Our Sully says hi!
