Hi! I'm really happy to join your group! What great information, too! I recently adopted a neglected red-footed tortoise who is supposed to be female and about 2 years old. She gets her name next Thursday when my high school students vote on my top 5 names. Only fair since she'll live with me long after they graduate.

I read up on information this am and went to my classroom to give the girl a soak and some kale. While she was free, I have spent - ahem - some money to get her a good enclosure, substrate, etc., etc.

I live in southern Oregon.

Welcome jcole! I find myself in much the same situation. So far have found it very rewarding and I hope you do to. Any pictures of your little girl yet? Or did I miss those earlier in the thread? Here is my little rescue girl nomming some zucchini. :)
