Hello,

I'm new to the tortoise forum. My name is Jessica and I live in Wisconsin. I have a one year old Golden Greek tortoise named Franklin. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas for an enclosure that are not wood. I've had problems with wood enclosures where the urine soaks into the wood. I'm currently using a plastic storage bin but I know Frank is starting to grow out of it and am in need of a larger enclosure.

Thanks!
Jessica

Hello, Jessica, and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum to you and Franklin.:)
Nice looking tortoise! :tort:
Some people treat the wood with a safe sealant to stop it rotting or use plastic sheeting, pond liner, tarpaulin, shower curtains etc as liners under the substrate.
Alternatively, some use bigger Christmas tree bin boxes or join two plastic boxes together, either directly or by a tunnel/tube connector.
Others use large glass terrariums, either bought or purpose built.
Have a look at our enclosures section for lots of great ideas.
