New Tortoise Mom!

Hi everyone! I'm the new mom of a Russian Tortoise. I look forward to learning from all of you. I have a ton of farm animals and in the house we have a ferret, two curly tail lizards, and our newest addition Peaches, the Russian Tortoise. I've read up alot, but I suppose my first question is about age. The place she was bought from said under a year, but I don't think that's correct. It's a pet supply store so... But she is 4 inches and 256 grams. Like I said I look forward to speaking with and learning from you all!!!

Hi and welcome!

Because Russian tortoises are a small species, pet stores think a small russian is very young. In order to reach 4" a Russian tortoise has lived about 4 or 5 years. If you post Peaches's picture we can give you an educated guess.
