Hi and welcome. I hope you haven't trashed that waterdish yet, it is still okay to use. That is, if it is big enough for him to be able to be completely in, which I question. The flipping issue one member spoke of, was referring only to hatchlings.

I live the next state over in Nebraska. You are going to love your redfoot. Always curious, what made you decide to get a tortoise?
Nope, haven't trashed it because he really enjoys it, it's easy for him to get in and out of :)
My husband has been wanting an exotic pet for a while. I'm cool with basically all exotics, but he wasn't (snakes creep him out, and so did a lot of the lizards) until he met the tortoises. He was hooked at once and really liked that the red foot was more or less strictly vegetarian :) And they last a long time and don't get overly huge.
