It was a year ago today that I travelled to Clovis, CA, visited the amazing tortoise sanctuary of TortoiseForum member, Yvonne G, and adopted Ed Jones. He is doing great! Thanks Yvonne G!
Yes, Yvonne G's place is quite impressive. It's a who's who of different species of tortoises. Plus, other friendly animals as well. Hope to make it back down there in the not-so-distant future. : )
Yvonne...you or anyone have some pix you'd be willing to post of outdoor enclosures? I'm moving to a horse ranch and I can build whatever I like. My girlfriend/boss LOVES tortoises and is totally into this.
It warms my heart to hear people talk about my place like that, but I really don't see that it is any place special. But thank you for the kind words anyway.
Yvonne, your place is FANTASTIC. I don't know how I missed that thread the first time. Glad I got to see it. It is a tortoise, human and other animal heaven
I live in Central Valley, CA and solidified the adoption of the tortoise from Yvonne G who lives in Clovis. I had an event I was attending in my hometown of Thousand Oaks, CA so thought I'd pick up the tortoise on the way back home.
While in Thousand Oaks, It was election season -- local City Council and Mayor campaign signs were all over town. Among them, Ed Jones -- who was Mayor of Thousand Oaks back in 1970 -- and is now in his 80s and very active in the community and was running for City Coincil.
Older guy -who's keepin' on- tortoises live for years -- Ed Jones.
PS: Ed Jones -the man -- did not win his City Council seat.
