Ordering RHP for night box--what wattage?

Howdy, everyone. SIL needs answers to 2 questions below.
Sorry, I searched my threads but couldn't locate the answer.

1. Reptile Supply Company has RHP's in 28, 40, and 120 watts. Which to order?

2. How far above the Kane mat should the RHP be placed?

What does your enclosure look like now? What are the dimensions? That will help with an answer.

A 120 as long it is on a temp controller and is mounted high above the shell so as not to burn the shell. For the night boxes the RHP or a small oil-filled radiator are recommended due to the higher level of safety

What size box and how high above the tortoise will it be mounted? I have 80 watt RHP in my 4x4 boxes. I agree with Blackdog that if its run on a thermostat, it won't be able to over heat the box.

What are the dimensions of the 120 watt panel.

I make my boxes 24 inches outside and they end up a little over 20 inches tall inside. I usually have a 1.5 inch drop down for the RHPs, and for smaller tortoises I might drop it down several inches.

The 120 watt is about 16 x 36 ish atleast in the VE brand panels
