Ornates mating

I've had these 2 together for going on 3 years in a large enclosure and put them together in a smaller one. I was told they may never mate but I found them hooked up for a few hours. Should I separate them now and let her be alone or keep them together for another week or so?

He seems mellow for now, I think I will give them a few more days together just in case they want to try it again.
