Thank you Terryo! I almost had a heart attack. My husband was teasin me the rest of the evening cause I thought I lost my turtle....lol. It is pretty funny.

In her temporary enclosure, she always hid/dug into the leaf litter. She started using the hide about two weeks ago,I think because we've been getting some rain. She was very attached to it... So much so I couldn't get her to come out of it!

I will try not to panic next time. :p

I couldn't see from the picture, but are the top of your walls overlapping? I put large pieces of slate all around the enclosure which overlaps about 4 or 5 inches.

Unfortunately no, they're not overlapping. The geometry of the blocks didnt allow for me to create a ledge on the last row. They fit very tightly together. She hasn't tried to escape/climb yet, not saying she won't.

I don't think the slate would lay securely on the stones of my enclosure without the glue.

I know she can't dig under, I buried a rockwall around the perimeter.

Sounds good to me. I cemented the top pieces of slate to the stones. I've seen Box turtles climbing corners, screen doors, and the list goes on and on. Years ago we had an old Eastern that we called Houdini. He actually climbed a tree that was leaning against a fence and got out....true story. We eventually let him have the run of the yard, and he never left.

Lots of my neighbors have been cutting down trees and trimming this week and hauled their timber to the street... So I found two good pieces that provide hides!

I also added some more plants. She's a happy girl.
