Hello all!
Here in Southern California the temperature is getting nice and hot now.
How long can I leave my little baby's out side at a time?
The only thing is the humidity Is all-ways going to be on the low side.
The in closure is not finished. IMG_1108.JPG
Thanks

I recommend no more than one hour for hatchlings. Once they pass 100 grams, I'll go to 2 or 3 hours. I then gradually add time as they grow. By 5-6 inches, I leave the outside all day, weather permitting.

I always soak babies on the way back in after having their sunning and exercise excursions in the great dry outdoors.

I agree with Tom..that's the guideline I followed.

Also, add some more shade to their enclosure :) planting a nice big Bush next to their shelter is a great way to offer a cooler area.
Providing access to shade is just as important as access to sunlight :)

Good info. I actually had the same question. I'm going to build an outdoor enclosure that's predator-proof so they can sun/graze without me having to worry.

That looks great!

As long as you don't have a dog...
