Hey guys!

My friend showed me these pics of her Redfoot and noticed some discolored patches on his skin.

It looks unusual because it’s raised.

I asked her to try to scrub it gently with a soft bristle brush to see if it came off and it doesn’t.

I know fungal issues are usually white or grey and spongey.

Are these brown patches concerning?

I'm not really sure what that is. If it were me I'd keep an eye on it. If it starts to spread more then maybe consider having an exotic vet take a look.

The only way to know for sure would be to take the tortoise to a qualified tortoise vet and have a scraping looked at under the microscope.

They look like scrapes or some other sort of injury that I'm unfamiliar with. Maybe ant bites?
If it were my tortoise, I'd apply some antibiotic ointment on the neck and keep a close eye on it for 2 or 3 days.
If it gets worse, or looks like its leaking fluid, etc. Bring him to your vet.
What I see doesn't alarm me too much at this stage.
