Hey there! :)

My name is Pixie...
I found the Tortoise Forum while looking for some info on red-footed tortoises, of which I am suddenly an owner!! :D
My family rescued a 3-4 year old 'cherry-head' just yesterday...Her name is Tortuga! :tort: She is a bi-ped, having unfortunately lost her two rear legs (presumable from poor care). :(

We are hoping to give her a happy home and restore her health.

As for other pets, we currently have a green anole, a Russian dwarf gerbil, 2 bunnies, and 2 dogs.
In the past I kept many reptiles and amphibians, including chameleons, frogs (you name it, I probably had one), snakes, and turtles.

Tortuga is my first experience with a tortoise, and I look forward to learning from and with everyone else here!!

Thanks, and have a super duper day!
:p

So... :D
Tortuga may or may not be a girl...I guess I'm not quite sure about that yet, and I'm not keen on believing what I've been told as of this point!

Either way ;) I'd like to invite everyone to check out my thread under Tortoise Health for a full description of Tortuga's health concerns...and thanks in advance for any insight you can offer!

thread name : "Rescued red-footed tortoise, need knowledge and advice"

Gratefully,
Pixie :p
