Since I started living with tortoises, I've been noodling around with how to do plantings for their inside enclosures efficiently, and this is the system I've come up with:
- drill four holes in a 16oz screw-top leftovers container, one about 3/4" in the top, three about 1/8" in the bottom
- fill the container with whatever substrate you're using (in my case, this is coconut husk) and the roots of plants grown from cuttings (to avoid poisons and fertilizers)
