He is at least 80 years old maybe much older. Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated Thank you Lottie

Looks like a greek tortoise with the two small spurs on the back legs. On the sex it is hard to tell without being able to see the vent. The tail is not that large but it is pulled to the side which males typically do. Females will hold their tail to the side though if touched or scared so that is not a good way to tell. The shape of the plastron near the tail looks female-ish to me.

I am new to id -ing and sexing mediterranean torts so hopefully some more experienced members will chime in. :)

Yes it's a Greek. For me it looks like an older male of Testudo gracea ibera.

He sure is old and deserves a great home. Living longer then most people, glad to see his picture! We all have to respect such a great animal. He needs to be pampered a bit.

It's a puzzler because the tail is so small. Greek for sure, but, like surfrgrl said, without seeing the cloaca (vent) it's just hard to tell.

That's a greek tort, I'm leaning towards male but I'm unsure. Pictures of the cloaca like Yvonne said could help. Also are you planning on becoming an active member?
