My little baby is a week old, and was looking sick so I let him soak in his little water dish and he started to look better, until all of a sudden he started to open his mouth and make a little e sound. I thought nothing of it until i picked him up a minute later and his face was covered in blood. I wiped it off and he just wont stop bleeding from his mouth. He opens his mouth, and when he closes it, blood comes out. Please help me on what I should do!

He just stopped moving a minute ago, and I am scared. How would I know if he has passed or not?

I would keep him warm, just in case he is alive. Can you pry his mouth open to see if he has a foreign object in there?
It doesn't sound good. I'm sorry!!

Im afraid he is just way too small to open his mouth without the fear of hurting him. I dont think there is anything in there though. He just moved his head but was shaking/ moving it as if he was scared to move. Thats a good sign at least.

Keep him warm and try to put him where he will feel secure. It does not sound promising but there is always hope.

How will i know when hes passed on?
Sometimes it's very hard to tell. I've heard the saying "a limp tortoise might be alive tortoise" however if rigor mortis sets in and he gets stiff then he is definitely gone. You may want to keep him warm for the next day or two just to make sure.

Wow...I don't know what to tell you. Only thing I can think of that there might have been something sharp in there that cut the baby. They don't have much blood at that size, so a little bleeding can be a pretty serious thing. As soon as you can, you need to take this baby to a qualified tortoise vet.

So sorry, but it sounds like you must go to a specialist herp vet asap if he is to stand any chance of survival.

Sadly, my week old tortoise passed away due to the blood loss. Its sad that i couldn't do anything as I cant drive so the vet was out of the equation. Thank you to everyone who supplied me with anything that hopefully made his passing easier and less miserable.
