That is Marbling. It's common in the Cherry head Redfoots. It will probably spread as your tort grows too. Nothing to worry about. My Redfoot has some too.IMG_20191007_104341510.jpg

Thank you for the quick reply! would you say master roshi is healthy? I have several pictures if you would need more.
and just by healthy i mean at first glance if there is something that looks off about him like coloring or anything.

He looks great, nice smooth growth. He's got cool extra scutes too!

hahaha yes! I like them! ive noticed that as well. the original owner gave him away for free because he said people dont like it when the scutes are uneven or have extras on one side. And likewise towards marbling! he looks like a real happy well taken care of tortoise! ty im feeling much more at ease now about master roshi's shell.

I think extra scutes or misshapen scutes give the tort a unique look. What a beauty you have there.

Ha! I noticed fine white lines forming in my sonoran desert tortoise's shell indentations and got all worked up...turned out to be dried-on banana! :p

Generally whenever we get posts about marks on a tortoise carapace, it ends up being something that wipes off.
