Hi to all! Just notice from a couple of weeks now that when Dobby is walking she doesn't or can't put firmly her left front leg. And we she did put it firmly she kind of fell on that side. She was very sick the past few month. But now she is doing very well. We gave her antibiotics in injections and maybe we harm her in the process. The vet put the first injection and we put the next 5. One a day in a different leg every day.
Here are some photos of what I'm talking about.

Where did you do the injections? What I mean is, did you do them in the muscle of the leg itself or did you do the shot in the soft skin section between the neck and leg--so not either neck nor leg but the soft skin between the two?

Well the instructions the vet gave us was that we need to grab the leg and softly pull it outside and all the way to the back and put the injection on a little bumb at the beggining of the leg. It was exactly where the soft skin end and the scales starts.

If you were using Baytril, that's probably the cause of the limping. Baytril has a tendency to be nephrotoxic (harmful to the kidneys), and sometimes causes tissue damage at the injection site.

We use Baytril. We gave her 6 injections. 1 the vet and 5 us. And put it where the vet show us on the first one

We put the injections last November.

It will take a while, but the tortoise will recover from it and be walking normally once again.

If you ever have another opportunity to have to use Baytril, ask your vet if you can give it orally instead of injection. Its much less offensive that way.
