Pyramiding Sulcatas?

I have two sulcata tortoises, both 2.5 years old. They are living in an outside dirt enclosure year round with a heating element during the winter (Southern California- so not freezing outside). Their diet consists mainly of romaine and red-leaf lettuce. I’m going to get them started on Timothy hay asap, but I am worried that they are pyramiding. Let me know what you think (Pics). What should I be doing to get them healthier?

Sorry, but they have not started to pyramid, they already are. At that age, a humid night box will do them some good to help the pyramiding from getting worse. You can search Toms thread for his night box designs and how he heats and humidifies it. A lot bigger variety is also needed in their diet.

Don't worry. They are still growing so you can CERTAINLY smooth it out with the right care. My tortoise has a long way to go and grow and he was starting to pyramid now it seems to be smoothing down abit.
