pyramiding?

I know I have read plenty on how to prevent this from happening. My question is does pyramiding hurt them at all in any way health wise? Seems to me when I have seen video of wild sulcata a lot of the wild ones have pyramiding. I'm just curios what it does to them.

It seems that MBD and pyramiding go together...so the damage would be from MBD...
