Hi,
I'm a (very) new Hermann's tortoise owner.
I've attached the picture of his table. I have just changed the substrate to coco coir and orchid bark on top.
I have one heat + UVB/UVA bulb light. The basking temperature is about 38°C right at the centre, 30°C round the outside. The "hotside" is about 25°C and cool side 18°C. The whole table drops to room temp. 18°C at night.
My question is about humidity and heat. Will these temperatures be sufficient to be safe from respiratory problems? I want to keep a high enough humidity (difficult on a table!). But will 60% humidity at 18°C be too wet and cold? Mostly worried about when the temp. drops at night and the coco coir is still damp.
Thanks!
