Question regarding Cherry head tortoise growth

I’ve asked about her growth before. I got her in September of 2018.

She still seems to be a slow grower, but is very active and alert, and eats well. She’s a cherry head that I got when she was just a few months old. (2 3/4 inches, 56 grams)

She will be 3 years old this July and is 5 inches long and weighs 616 grams.

Is this normal?

I’ve heard some are over 6-8 inches and 800 grams at this age!?

Hello SMK,
I think they are like comparing human children growth, you can't really compare.
My Sheldon at 2 3/4 inches was 68 grams. A little heavy than yours, however at
5 inches he weighed 457 grams, a little less than yours.
He is now 7 yrs old, 7 inches long & 4.2 lbs. And currently has white growth lines.
As long as they eat good & are active, it's all good !
Do you know for sure that it's a female ?

Thanks, that’s reassuring.
Well, when I purchased her the breeder told me as she was only 2 3/4 inches and a few months old, they could only offer a professional opinion that it was most likely a female.
Thanks again ?

I have some almost 9 year olds from the same clutch that are still only 7 inches. They’re all different. I wouldn’t worry since you’ve seen growth. Only little to no growth would be worrysome.

Here is a group of cherry heads that I have, these are all females and all five years old. their growth is extremely abnormal as to how large, they are but as you will see one of them is still a little smaller. don’t worry too much on growth as long as they are growing steadily and healthy you should have a very healthy animal
