I am planning on having a Hermanns tort. I have been doing my research for abt one month already! I want to provide my future tort the best life possible!! However I am very concerned abt how to provide the little guy the best diet I can. I am still a college student. Thus, I doubt I can have time and the environment to gather wild natural weed for its daily diet. The question in my mind is if I can replace fresh weeds and flower with dried ones. (Montainrose herbs or A.T.C.'s Dried Foliage Mix, the second one seems nice cuz it have over 25 different type of herbs In it! But I am concerned abt its quality. Any of u guys have comments abt Arizona tortoise comping plz let me know.) I have seen garden state tortoise's video on mixing mazuri with dried herbs to provide varied diet. I wonder if I can use this method to provide my future tort daily! Of course if I can get some fresh ones I will provide to my tort but that's only gonna be occasionally. Also how is mazuri for tortoise health overall? Last but not least I will post the screenshot of my homemade tortoise care sheet so far plz feel free to correct me if anything is wrong or need to be added! Guys plz help me out I want to be a responsible owner for my future tort!IMG_1515.jpgIMG_1516.jpgIMG_1514.jpgIMG_1517.jpg

Hello,
Dried weeds are fine. You can soak them to rehydrate and then feed it to your tort.
Arizona Tortoise compound usually receives good reviews from what I have seen. I have no experience with them personally.
Even though mazuri is a good way to vary the diet I don't recommend feeding it every day. Three times a week would be good. They tend to become addicted to it, then you can't get them to eat other things unless it's buried in mazuri. You can also supplement his diet with grocery greens

It should be fine. Mix in something different every few days, like mazuri or fresh weeds you can find. Keep an eye on your local stores for greens you can offer. I would also offer cuttlebone for calcium and once a week add a very small amount of multi vitamin powder to a meal.

I dried so much plantain and zinnias among other good daily feeds and my Hermie won't touch them, even mixed in Mazuri.
