Hi All,

Thank you all for so much info just laying around, has been massively helpful!

I just got a new hatchling and have some questions on it and attaching photos:
  1. The shell is a bit flat at the top, instead of a curve. Do you know if that is a problem or if it will round out as it grows up?
  2. There is a odd color spot on the top of the head, is that normal?
  3. Is this shell rot at the bottom?

Oh and I purchased this guy from Torkstork.

If you got your baby from Tortstork then you have nothing to worry about. Randy is a highly reputable breeder and I've also purchased Greek hatchlings from him.

Your baby looks completely perfect, and the dark spotting on the belly is just their unique plastron markings. It's a great way to help identify them in comparison to other species that can look similar (like the Hermann's tortoise).

The lighter spots on the belly just appear to look dry. Are you soaking daily?
