Hey my spotted turtle hatchling is doing really good. Finally saw him basking in the early mornings. Got a few questions if y'all don't mind :)

1. Do I need to hibernate my spotted turtle?
2. Is it relevant for his health?

If I should do it:

3. How many months ?
4. What temperature ?
5. Should I buy a separate fridge for him ?
6. Can I hibernate him outside in his tub?
7. What are things I need to look out for?

Thanks for reading!

1. Do I need to hibernate my spotted turtle?
no

2. Is it relevant for his health?
possibly

3. How many months ?
in the northern portion of their range their active season is only 4-5 months

4. What temperature ?
they all hibernate best around 38-40 fahrenheit

5. Should I buy a separate fridge for him ?
i would , if that's how i was going to hibernate them

6. Can I hibernate him outside in his tub?
is the tub in the ground or above ground ? how deep is the water ? what's your winter like ?

7. What are things I need to look out for?

water should remain somewhat open from ice on the surface , the surface freezing solid while not necessarily fatal is not ideal ........,water should remain well oxygenated , and not have wild temperature swings ......
